This is the SlickFish™ tumblelog, kind of like a blog but with short-form, posts of stuff I like and of course, the ubiquitous web site announcement. Scroll down a bit to check out what we've been up to, or a bit more to read more about SlickFish™.

This July, SlickFish Studios, LLC will be 10 years old. How crazy is that?! A lot has happened in the web world (since 2002) and we’re adapting with it. Great design and clean, organized development has always been (and remains) the most critical aspect of what we do. The evidence is out there; some of our customers are still using their sites built as far back as 2003! This is an extreme for sure, but also a testament to solid, custom, universal code, and designs that didn’t hop on every trend or gimmicky technique available the week those sites were built. However, there is something to be said for keeping up with today. After all, we are updating our web browsers and software when new versions come out - aren’t we?! We also crave the latest digital devices to help satisfy our black hole appetites for social media and all things on the web. I know this isn’t just me… So what about our web sites?
Of course we cannot realistically update our web sites as often as we change our profile pictures… however, making sure things are fresh, even on a small scale—content & code updates, design enhancements, SEO tweaks—will go a long way to keep your audience coming back for more.
As much as we love hearing praise for our SlickFish web site, it is hardly up to date and we must move forward. We have used the excuses…, “…a cobbler’s kids have no shoes…” and the more recent, “…it’s a flash web site, and our last stronghold to the medium!” but deep down, we know it’s time to retire Old Faithful and bring in the New!
What better time than now, our 10th year*, to revisit our web site with a refreshed, current, and responsive design! Apologies for the long-winded post, if you know us well, it’s a once in a decade kind of thing.
Spread the word! Like us on Facebook and savor the anticipation.
New SlickFish Studios web site launching July 4th. Holla!

A small but fun and informative website for the US Biathlon Foundation. We’ve become quite fond of the sport while working with the Maine Winter Sports Center and US Biathlon over the years and look forward to rooting on the US in SOCHI 2014!

It’s always fun to work with a company on their first ever web site - and even better when they give us a blank slate! We designed, built, coordinated photography (including all helicopter stunts), extensive image work and retouching, SEO, copy, smart phone/ipad… A great company, project & results! UPDATE: LIHC loved their new web site so much we’re working on their sister company’s web site right now!
